While the share of China (+23 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of the United States (-2.5 p.p.), South Africa (-3.9 p.p.), Mexico (-4.4 p.p.) and Thailand (-8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest non-combined refrigerator-freezer supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 43% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Thailand ($X), with a 7.7% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China totaled +7.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Thailand (+0.8% per year) and Germany (-0.2% per year).

At the same time, India (+13.4%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+9.6%), Russia (+9.0%), the Netherlands (+8.7%), Sweden (+6.8%), Canada (+6.7%), Germany (+5.2%), Belgium (+2.3%) and France (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +13.4% from 2012-2021. The UK and Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (-5.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United States (+5.8 p.p.), the Netherlands (+1.9 p.p.) and Germany (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Spain saw its share reduced by -1.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
