Wrapping Papers Exports

Exports from the Russian Federation

After ten years of growth, overseas shipments of wrapping paper, packaging paper and paperboard decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, wrapping papers exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

China (X tons) was the main destination for wrapping papers exports from Russia, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, wrapping papers exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Turkey (X tons), threefold. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, wrapping papers imports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a slight contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of wrapping papers imports to Russia, together accounting for X% of total imports.
