In value terms, electrical transformer exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Swaziland (X units) and South Africa (X units) prevails in exports structure, together generating X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Angola (X units), generating a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Angola (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest electrical transformer supplier in SADC, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Swaziland ($X), with a X% share of total exports.
In South Africa, electrical transformer exports plunged by an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Swaziland (X% per year) and Angola (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per unit, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per unit), while Swaziland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, electrical transformer imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
South Africa was the largest importer of electrical transformers in SADC, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Mozambique (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Namibia (X units), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) and Angola (X units). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total imports. The following importers - Tanzania (X units) and Swaziland (X units) - together made up X% of total imports.
Imports into South Africa decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Mozambique (X%), Tanzania (X%), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X%) and Namibia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mozambique emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Swaziland (X%) and Angola (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mozambique (X p.p.), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X p.p.), Namibia (X p.p.) and Tanzania (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Angola and South Africa saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest electrical transformer importing markets in SADC were Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X), South Africa ($X) and Tanzania ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports. Angola, Mozambique, Namibia and Swaziland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
Among the main importing countries, Mozambique, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tanzania ($X per unit), while South Africa ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
