Bangladesh (X kg) was the main destination for natural polymers exports from Sri Lanka, accounting for a X% share of total exports. It was followed by India (X kg), with a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bangladesh stood at X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (X% per year) and Iceland (X% per year).

Imports into Sri Lanka

In 2023, approx. X tons of natural and modified natural polymers in primary forms were imported into Sri Lanka; surging by X% compared with 2022 figures. Over the period under review, imports posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, natural polymers imports dropped to $X in 2023. Overall, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X%.
