Clementines Price in Denmark (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average clementines import price amounted to $1,530 per ton, waning by -32.4% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a moderate expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, clementines import price decreased by -32.4% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 45% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,263 per ton in May 2023, and then fell notably in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,983 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,513 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average clementines export price amounted to $1,486 per ton, growing by 5.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 16%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,740 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Faroe Islands ($1,996 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,113 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of fruit, edible decreased by -11.8% to 21K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 23K tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, clementines imports declined to $26M in 2022.
