Frozen Fish Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average frozen fish import price amounted to $5,877 per ton, with an increase of 25% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, frozen fish import price increased by +49.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($20,808 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($1,392 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average frozen fish export price stood at $9,856 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $11,972 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($26,424 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,359 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+17.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Fish Imports in Singapore
In 2022, imports of frozen fish into Singapore was estimated at 50K tons, flattening at 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 1.5%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 54K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, frozen fish imports skyrocketed to $293M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
