Imitation Jewellery Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average imitation jewellery export price amounted to $29,335 per ton, increasing by 26% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a modest expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, imitation jewellery export price increased by +26.0% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 70% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $40,982 per ton. From March 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($111K per ton), while the average price for exports to Greece ($5,779 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imitation Jewellery Price in China (CIF) - 2022
The average imitation jewellery import price stood at $273,110 per ton in 2022, falling by -8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 52%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $320,344 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($3,043,318 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($4,756 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imitation Jewellery Exports in China
In 2022, exports of imitation jewelry from China expanded sharply to 174K tons, with an increase of 5.9% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 42% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, imitation jewellery exports soared to $4.5B in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 113%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
