The average mandarins import price stood at $1,224 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 5.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 an increase of 16% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in July 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Argentina ($1,417 per ton) and Peru ($1,364 per ton), while the price for Uruguay ($1,110 per ton) and South Africa ($1,182 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average mandarins export price amounted to $977 per ton, dropping by -49.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price decreased by -10.1%. The export price peaked at $2,163 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 45%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $119M, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
