Mushroom and Truffle Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average mushroom and truffle import price amounted to $2,578 per ton, with a decrease of -5.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,885 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($2,882 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($2,222 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mushroom and Truffle Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average mushroom and truffle export price amounted to $2,809 per ton, waning by -7.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a modest increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 119%. The export price peaked at $9,596 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were the Czech Republic ($3,249 per ton) and Austria ($2,797 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malta ($2,460 per ton) and Poland ($2,731 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+28.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mushroom and Truffle Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, approx. 5.1K tons of mushrooms and truffles were imported into Slovakia; declining by -2.9% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 3% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 5.2K tons, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports declined to $11M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 12% against the previous year.
