In December 2023, the average export price for enzymes; prepared enzymes not elsewhere specified or includeds amounted to $4,772 per ton, shrinking by -3.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 8.4% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $5,569 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($8,895 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($2,077 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for enzymes; prepared enzymes not elsewhere specified or includeds stood at $26,881 per ton in December 2023, surging by 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 56% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $30,578 per ton. From June 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($91,593 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($4,300 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
