The average import price for frozen boneless cuts of bovine meat stood at $3,364 per ton in December 2023, flattening at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,515 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($7,334 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($2,959 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
