Price for Fruit or Nut Preserves in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average fruit or nut preserves import price amounted to $4,149 per ton, dropping by -13.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated mild growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, fruit or nut preserves import price decreased by -17.8% against July 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 44% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,046 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($11,257 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($1,364 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, the average fruit or nut preserves export price amounted to $3,655 per ton, growing by 16% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a tangible increase from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, fruit or nut preserves export price increased by +17.9% against July 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 68% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $5,102 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Brunei Darussalam ($4,722 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($1,422 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vanuatu (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Fruit or Nut Preserves in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 5.2K tons of jams, marmalades, fruit jellies, fruit or nut purees and pastes were imported into Singapore; with a decrease of -2.9% against the year before. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 10%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 5.3K tons, and then fell modestly in the following year.
In value terms, fruit or nut preserves imports soared to $21M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +60.3% against 2020 indices.
