Price for Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in Hungary (CIF) - 2023
The average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $6,627 per ton in June 2023, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $7,700 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,566 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,501 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $4,885 per ton in 2022, rising by 4.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 213%. The export price peaked at $21,647 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($10,955 per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($1,618 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
