The average export price for spices; ginger, neither crushed nor ground stood at $1,056 per ton in 2022, reducing by -20.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 44%. The export price peaked at $4,326 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Central African Republic ($8,372 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($353 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Central African Republic (+302.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the import price recorded a sharp decrease.
