Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, coffee substitutes imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the four major importers of coffee substitutes containing coffee, namely Aruba, Belize, Chile and Bahamas, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Venezuela (X tons), mixing up a X% share of total imports. Barbados (X tons), Cayman Islands (X tons), Guatemala (X tons), Curacao (X tons) and the Dominican Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Belize (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
