Export Prices by Country
In 2023, the average urea export price amounted to $X per ton, falling by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, urea imports declined markedly to $X in 2023. In general, imports saw a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia (X tons), Qatar (X tons) and Canada (X tons) were the main suppliers of urea imports to the United States, with a combined X% share of total imports. Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Oman, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Bahrain and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Nigeria (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Qatar ($X) and Canada ($X) were the largest urea suppliers to the United States, together accounting for X% of total imports.
