South Sudan (X units) was the main destination for truck exports from Uganda, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, truck exports to South Sudan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Kenya (X units), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume to South Sudan totaled X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (X% per year) and Kenya (X% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, truck export price increased by X% against 2021 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2023, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Rwanda ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Democratic Republic of the Congo (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Uganda
Truck imports into Uganda totaled X units in 2023, picking up by X% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, saw a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, truck imports expanded notably to $X in 2023. In general, total imports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. In 2023, Japan (X units) constituted the largest truck supplier to Uganda, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, truck imports from Japan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Africa (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X units), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume from Japan amounted to X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Africa (X% per year) and China (X% per year).
In value terms, the largest truck suppliers to Uganda were Japan ($X), China ($X) and South Africa ($X), together comprising X% of total imports. India, Tanzania, the UK, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
