In November 2023, the average import price for cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed amounted to $6,520 per ton, surging by 4.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 5.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $6,977 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($11,398 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($4,929 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2023, the average export price for cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed amounted to $5,089 per ton, with an increase of 2.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $5,676 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Kyrgyzstan ($5,781 per ton) and Kazakhstan ($5,378 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($4,591 per ton) and Uzbekistan ($4,800 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Cheese, Other than Blue-Veined, Grated, Powdered or Processed in Ukraine
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed decreased by -38.6% to 17K tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 119%.
In value terms, imports of cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed shrank markedly to $104M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 111%.
