Apple Price in Denmark (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average apple import price amounted to $1,354 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 10% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,382 per ton in June 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($1,647 per ton), while the price for Poland ($690 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apple Price in Denmark (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average apple export price amounted to $1,244 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate slight growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 18% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,335 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iceland ($2,263 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($671 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apple Imports in Denmark
In 2022, supplies from abroad of apples decreased by -30.3% to 41K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports saw a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 12%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 59K tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, apple imports reduced remarkably to $51M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 17% against the previous year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 20%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 8.4K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, apple exports reduced dramatically to $6.4M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $12M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
