Pear Price in France (CIF) - 2023
The average pear import price stood at $1,233 per ton in October 2023, jumping by 37% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed measured growth. The import price peaked at $2,063 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($1,442 per ton), while the price for South Africa totaled $1,176 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average pear export price amounted to $2,048 per ton, growing by 78% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 87% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,315 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,566 per ton), while the average price for exports to Senegal ($1,424 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
